The SBEM Interface Radio Device (Aqualink) is a compact, cost-effective radio modem that enables transparent communication between Aquasonic Residential Water Meters (153 RWM) and Smart mobile devices. Designed to replace bulky, integrated handheld units. AQUALINK leverages LoRa technology and the 865 MHz license-free ISM band for wireless data exchange. The RWM acts as an end node, periodically transmitting meter data via sub-GHz RF band, which is received by AQUALINK. The device then forwards this data to a SBEM RWM mobile application using a Bluetooth serial communication protocol. Equipped with a rechargeable battery. AQUALINK supports bi-directional communication receiving or transmitting data from the 153 RWM over RF and interfacing with SBEM’s mobile application via Bluetooth. This setup enables efficient, real-time automatic meter reading and monitoring without the need for specialized handheld terminals.
