SBEM’s Open Channel Flow Measurement Solution leverages the 136 ROF ultrasonic ROF and the 104 Capacitance ROF to capture water level and velocity, combined with Parshall Flumes, Rectangular Weirs, and Triangular/V-Notch Weirs for automated, precise, and non-contact flow monitoring. The system supports continuous real-time data logging and remote communication for operational decision-making.
Level Measurement (Time-of-Flight Method)
The 136 ROF sensor emits ultrasonic pulses and measures echo return time to determine water depth. Flow rate is calculated using established head–discharge relationships.
Velocity Measurement (Doppler Method, optional)
Ultrasonic waves reflect off particles or bubbles in water; the frequency shift indicates flow velocity. Combined with crosssectional area, discharge is computed.
Integration with Flumes/Weirs
Parshall flumes, Rectangular Weirs, and Triangular Weirs convert flow characteristics into measurable liquid levels, which the 136 ROF algorithms translate into precise flow rates.
Non-Contact Measurement Technology
Prevents fouling, corrosion, and contamination.
Algorithm-Based Flow Calculation
No strap tables required for accurate flow rate computation.
Automated Real-Time Monitoring
Continuous monitoring supported with remote communication capability.
Low Maintenance & High Durability
Designed for long service life with minimal maintenance effort.
Multi-Structure Compatibility
Compatible with Parshall Flumes, Rectangular Weirs, and Triangular Weirs.
Optional Velocity Measurement
Provides enhanced measurement accuracy through velocity sensing.
Harsh Environment Reliability
Engineered for environmental compatibility and reliable operation in extreme conditions.
